The initial display is a backlit house number; next, the doorbell symbol with the owner's name is most often displayed, followed by a scrollable name list with doorbells. A portrait silhouette can also be replaced by a real photo of the resident. Pressing the doorbell symbol triggers a ringing sound, accompanied by a confirmation signal. The video camera simultaneously transmits the image of the guest to the intercom (which can be an internal Schüco video station, IP video phone, smartphone, softphone, or tablet), allowing the resident to see who is coming from a distance. The wide-angle camera lens generously captures the entire entry area. The intercom allows for verbal communication between the resident and the guest, and in such a case, the mouth symbol appears on the display. The device automatically adjusts to any loud surroundings and ensures clear communication, as well as changes the screen brightness depending on ambient light. If the resident decides to open the door, a door symbol appears on the display, allowing the guest to enter.
Authorized persons can directly navigate to the keypad on the display, and after entering the numeric code, the door will automatically open. Access authorization can be programmed and managed temporally through the Schüco DCS Touch Display - by specifying specific hours or working days, making it easier to control access, especially for service providers when the building can only be made accessible during precisely specified times.
In terms of security, the touch display module also brings a new dimension. Before each new entry, the digits on the code keypad change their order so that the entry code cannot be deciphered from potential fingerprints. Integrated mechanical and acoustic theft protection for the touch display is also included. Additionally, the DCS touch display is encrypted with the internal control unit; the lock is securely secured from the inside via the IP security connector. In the event of the theft of the touch display, the IP security connector will automatically disconnect from the network, preventing manipulation with the lock and any intervention in the internal network.
The installation of the Schüco DCS touch display usually occurs by embedding it into the outer frame or door leaf. Upon request, surface mounting or installation into a wall panel is also possible. In addition to the minimized number of components, the installation is facilitated and accelerated by prefabricated accessories with clear labeling.
