The company PRESBETON is once again returning to the FOR ARCH construction fair, which will take place from September 20 to 24 in Prague. At the exhibition area of PRESBETON, measuring nearly 200 m2, innovations in the field of concrete pavings and urban furniture will be presented, as well as interesting products from the existing production. More than half of the area will consist of a freely paved space combined with greenery. The remaining part of the space will feature the structure of the exhibition pavilion.
The chosen shape of the pavilion refers to the presented, newly designed series of urban furniture Hex with its paving system. The pavilion represents an imagined process of creation – basalt rock that formed by crystallizing molten magma into hexagonal molds. Hexagonal geometry thus integrates into the paving itself – the design of the presented series Hex.

Urban Furniture Presbeton Hex

The Hex urban furniture is designed for urban environments such as streets, pedestrian zones, or squares, but also for parks; the author is Next Level Studio, Ing. arch. Michal Kutálek. The pavement with flower pots can be implemented outside the city in residential zones of family houses or in rural environments. The predominant material is smooth exposed concrete, which ensures significant resistance to weather conditions and vandalism. The benches are made of impregnated oak wood in various surface treatment variants. The metal connecting elements are galvanically zinc-coated.

The design of the individual furniture elements is inspired by bionic examples from the animal kingdom. The basalt pillar formations, which crystallize into hexagonal shapes, directly inspired the design of the paving system.
The shapes of the Hex series utilize the main advantages of the material from which it is made – reinforced concrete. Reinforced concrete can be assigned noble shapes through the casting process in molds, which would be difficult to manufacture from other materials.



The main advantage of the paving system is the gradual, gentle transition from paved areas to grassy green areas. The hexagonal paving combined with the grassing elements and flower pots creates a cohesive system that allows for considerable variability and modularity. It is a construction set from which the customer can assemble green islands according to their own vision. This system is complemented by the Hex and Hex Deform seats, whose platform is in the same format as the paving, allowing direct insertion into the assembled area. The grassing and simultaneously solid pavement with a thickness of 80mm is dimensioned for vehicle traffic up to 3.5t.



The defining posts and trash bins are installed into a prefabricated reinforced concrete base. The attachment structure is covered with paving, making the joints hidden. The metal box of the trash bin is tiltable and removable.

The bicycle stand consists of two reinforced concrete elements. Its capacity can be customized according to the customer's wishes. The edge form is designed in the same style as the Hex 2 bench. The middle piece can be inserted multiple times to create an "infinite stand".

In the Czech Republic, this is an absolute novelty in the area of a comprehensive system of paving, furniture, and complementary elements.
