PRESBETON will present a new product at the FOR ARCH fair - Urban furniture and G-ROW pavement

The company PRESBETON is presenting another interesting novelty at this year’s FOR ARCH trade fair, which is the Urban Furniture G-ROW. This follows the previous successful series of furniture H-E-X. Similar to the H-E-X series, the new system is designed for urban environments such as streets, pedestrian zones, or squares, and will also serve to equip corporate areas or parks.

The G-ROW system can be applied in a conventional manner as individual final products (e.g., bench, bike rack, flowerpot, etc.) or as freely combinable sets. Thanks to the identical base module footprint of 800x800 mm, the individual elements contained in the basic products can be interconnected and assembled into shape and functionally different forms. This is a variable modular system.

The entire series is based on a single basic concrete element, which is used in various modifications as the carrying element of all products. This solution reduces the need for a substantial number of original molds while ensuring the modularity of the entire system.

The basic element draws inspiration from the world of natural forms. The lapidary shape is inspired by the mundane example of a landscape that has been transformed over millions of years into towering geological formations, as well as by the simple constructions of ants or the constantly transforming sand dunes shaped by the wind.

The principle of gradual "growing of the form" is transferred into the morphology of the basic element, which organically emerges from a continuous concrete platform. To enhance this effect, the system is complemented by cast paving with the same surface qualities. The paving is also designed with the same module, thus suitably complementing the product sets. The G-ROW paving is produced in a "walking" version with a thickness of 60 mm and a "drivable" version with a thickness of 100 mm for vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons. Products from the G-ROW series can also be embedded in other pavings of any size and depth.

The predominant material is smooth exposed concrete. The G-ROW series covers all urban furniture needs, including benches with and without backs, seating, flowerpots, bike racks, trash bins, and dividing posts.
Benches consist of a basic concrete element positioned on the sides and wooden slats made of impregnated spruce in various surface treatment options.
The flowerpot consists of "side panels" that are inserted between the basic elements. The frequency of inserting the side panels is not limited. The bike rack is also closed at its ends by basic elements. Internal support elements are inserted between them. The capacity of the rack can be adjusted according to customer wishes. The space for inserting the bike is equipped with a rubber pad that protects the bike's fork. The trash bin is equipped with a pull-out waste container made of galvanized steel. It is fixed and locked via an openable supporting frame that rests against the basic concrete element. The bin is equipped with an extinguishing device for cigarette butts. The basic element is lightened by a cavity that can be equipped with LED backlighting.

The design was entrusted to architect Michal Kutálek from Next Level Studio, who, along with his colleague Miroslav Dvouletý, is also behind the creation of the previous H-E-X series.
