Large-format sliding systems are very popular among both architects and clients. Access to the terrace, balcony, or garden no longer has to be a barrier but rather a free continuation of the interior. Today, there are a number of available solutions at an excellent technical level for the generous connection between the interior and exterior. Schüco International KG offers aluminum and plastic systems in a wide range of design and color variants. You can choose from non-insulated interior systems to highly thermally insulated and security sliding systems, with the option of partial or complete automation.

Schüco ASS 77 PD

If you need an infill that is reliable, highly durable, and long-term resistant to mechanical stress, there is no better choice than aluminum. In aluminum sliding systems, Schüco offers a wide range of solutions characterized by easy operability. The profiles move almost silently on guide rails made of stainless steel. The new system Schüco ASS 77 PD allows for the realization of narrow visible widths of profiles together with excellent thermal properties (overall heat transfer coefficient Uw = from 0.84 W/(m2K)). This series was awarded the GOLD 2012 trophy in the “buildings” category of the iF product design award competition and the BEST OF THE BEST 2012 award in the Reddot design award competition. The hidden design of the frames, concealed in the building construction, and where the wings meet, ensures minimal visible width. This clean design provides an unobstructed view while maintaining excellent thermal properties, even for the unique 90° corner solution variant. The double-track frame can bear a load of up to 500 kg when automated and 250 kg when manually operated. Barrier-free design, resistance to burglary up to resistance class BT2 (RC2), and integration of automated and control systems are also standard.

Schüco also offers several opening variants. You can choose from classic sliding systems, lift-and-slide systems, folding systems, or parallel-slide and tilt systems (known as the PASK system). Lift-and-slide doors ensure easy handling, opening to one side or from the center. When closed, they prove excellent thermal and sound tightness. The advantage of folding doors is the possibility of almost completely opening the glazed area. The individual elements fold to the side into a narrow bundle, and depending on the type of use, both interior and exterior variants with thermally insulated profiles are available. The popular PASK system refers to parallel-slide and tilt doors. The wings are mounted in the frames to flush from the outside and perfectly seal thanks to the inner abutment. In the PASK system, the sliding door wing can be tilted for ventilation purposes or the entire area can be opened.

Schüco e-slide

Considering the large formats of sliding systems, which can weigh several hundred kilograms, lightweight and quick operation is also taken into account. By pressing a button integrated into the frame, the doors can be opened and closed using the e-slide technology. This allows for fully automatic and silent movement of wings weighing up to 250 kg (or measuring 3 x 3 m). The hidden automation is controlled via a keypad on the wing, through a space sensor, or centrally as part of the building's automated management. In an apartment, it will be particularly appreciated by elderly people, disabled individuals, and children, for whom sliding the door will pose no problem at all. Maximum safety is ensured through an integrated locking device that will immediately push the wing in the opposite direction if it encounters an obstacle during sliding, such as a person or object. Through alternative infrared sensor technology, such an obstacle can be detected even before contact occurs if it approaches at a defined angle. A fingerprint reader can also be installed for access from the outside. The automatic building control is thus connected with the control of windows and doors throughout the building. Individual elements can be controlled manually in the room, centrally via PC, or remotely using a mobile phone. The control panel works with weather indicators, CO₂ sensors, and other preset indicators and values for controlling ventilation, shading devices, and heating. When leaving the house, the system will alert you to unclosed openings, or it will close them itself.
Doors with the e-slide system have a clean design because the motor mechanism is completely hidden in the door frame.

Schüco ThermoSlide

Schüco offers a complete range of large-format sliding doors in plastic as well. The plastic lift-and-slide doors Schüco ThermoSlide, based on the Schüco Corona SI 82 system, have a frame depth of 219 mm and are equipped with newly developed seals ensuring completely silent wing movement. Thanks to a threefold thermally broken aluminum threshold and a 5-chamber wing, this system achieves excellent thermal insulation values with overall heat transfer coefficients Uw ≤ from 0.8 W/(m²K). In addition to a range of color options, new durable metallic decors Schüco AutomotiveFinish are also available. The ThermoSlide system allows for absolutely barrier-free design and wing weights of up to 400 kg.
