Litoměřice - The city of Litoměřice is seeking its new visual style. A two-round competition for the new visual style is being organized for Litoměřice by the company Czechdesign. The winning design will be presented by the city in May. This was reported today to ČTK by the spokesperson of the Litoměřice town hall, Eva Břeňová.
The company Czechdesign has long-term experience with similar projects and has organized them for Liberec and the National Gallery, for example. "It was therefore our first choice when looking for a partner for the competition. We know that a high level of professionalism and expertise will be ensured," said the town hall spokesperson. In the project, the city approached five designers, whom Czechdesign helped to select. "We wanted our native Eva Vopelková to be among them, who won last year with the best graphic design for the 800th anniversary of the city. There is also another designer among the participants who is from Litoměřice," added Břeňová.
The city management approved an amount of 400,000 crowns for the development of a unified visual style, while around 200,000 more will be spent on the organization from Czechdesign along with the sketch fees for the approached candidates.
"Our goal during the competition is to enable close cooperation between the client and the competitors. Only then is it possible for Litoměřice to find a long-term strategic partner. We also want to ensure a local character of the competition and have part of the participants and the expert jury directly from the region, which, thanks to the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP), is a breeding ground for talent," said project manager from Czechdesign Michaela Holubec Birtusová.
The historical city is looking for a unified visual identity for the first time. Until now, Litoměřice has only used a heraldic symbol, which is no longer sufficient for its purposes and limits communication. The new visual style aims to unify the city's presentation and its organizations not only in promotional materials but also on websites and social networks.
