The awarding of the J. M. Olbrich Award aims to promote quality architecture, inform and engage the public, initiate discussion and interest in architecture and the environment that surrounds us. The award has been announced regularly since 2007 for quality architecture, reconstruction, or urban planning solutions in the Opava region. The awards alternate between new construction and reconstruction. Until 2022, the award was overseen by the association Za Opavu. This year, the newly established City Architecture Association takes over the responsibility.

Anyone can submit their nomination proposals by June 30, 2023, by filling out the form.
The submitted proposals will be evaluated by a professional jury, and an exhibition of the proposed realizations will take place during the Architecture Day in Opava, where the relevant creators will be awarded for the winning building.

Schedule for evaluations this year:
1. The public can submit nominations until June 30, 2023.

2. The jury will meet for evaluation in August and September 2023.

3. The jury's final statement will be based on a site visit and a joint discussion no later than September 20, 2023.

4. The exhibition's opening will take place during the Architecture Day in Opava on September 29, 2023, in the Arcades of Dvořákovy Sady.
