Příbram – Příbram is preparing to reconstruct J. A. Alis Square in Březové Hory, its design will arise from an architectural competition. The town hall has already formed a committee that will select from the individual proposals. The committee will include representatives of the city and experts, said the mayor Jan Konvalinka (for ANO) to ČTK.

"We have approached architects who are organized in the relevant chamber. The committee is currently established, and further work will follow. The next step will be, of course, systematic meetings and the creation of the actual proposals, from which the committee will subsequently select," said the mayor.

The town hall has already conducted a survey among the public to hint at the direction the reconstruction should take. According to Konvalinka, the prevailing opinion is that the square should be a natural center where people from Březové Hory can meet and feel safe.

The announcement of the architectural competition was proposed by local residents, and the town hall agreed. According to the A-team group, which brings together primarily architects associated with Příbram, the announcement of a public architectural competition is the most suitable option from which diverse proposals and a tremendous amount of creativity can arise. According to A-team member Markéta Škodová, J. A. Alis Square deserves significant attention not only because of the people who live there but also due to the tens of thousands of tourists who pass through annually when visiting the Mining Museum.
