The subject of the competition is the design solution for a fountain (water feature) in Karlovo náměstí in Třebíč.
The requirements of the organizer for the solution of the competition subject are as follows:
1.    The design will respect the significance of the location – the main square of a historic city with UNESCO-listed monuments in the conditions of contemporary life.
2.    The design will take into account the existing form of the square, including the statue of Cyril and Methodius and the newly proposed modifications to the square, including the location of the marketplace. The design should be realizable even before the planned modifications to the square.
3.    Among the functional requirements (in order of importance) are:
a)    enhancing the character of the place;
b)    cooling the surroundings, air, surface of the square in the summer months;
c)    representation of the city (together with other monuments and attractions);
d)    operational efficiency and long service life of the work;
e)    occasional informal strolling, bathing;
f)    interaction with visitors to the square;
4.    Each design will also include a variant for the winter season so that even in the off-season the space does not lack artistic quality.
5.    The size of the work is not precisely specified; it should correspond to the scale of the square, the location of the placement, functional requirements, and the economic possibilities of the organizer.
6.    No forms of solutions are excluded from the designs – the fountain can be a work of sculpture, architecture, or it can be a technological variant (water theatre without a material artifact).

Prizes
The first prize is set at 80,000 CZK.
The second prize is set at 60,000 CZK.
The third prize is set at 40,000 CZK.

Dates
The competition will be announced on Thursday, March 29, 2018. The last possible submission date for the competition proposal is Monday, May 21, 2018, at 17:00.
Conditions for participation in the competition will be fulfilled by natural and legal persons, or their companies, who prove that they meet the basic eligibility requirements as defined in § 74 of the Public Procurement Act and other common conditions, such as independence from the organizer.
