Dobříš – Dobříš in the Příbram region is planning the reconstruction of Mírové náměstí in the city center. The work will cost tens of millions of crowns, and the city aims to secure a grant for it. The final form of the square will emerge from an architectural competition, said Deputy Mayor Tomáš Vokurka (ODS) to ČTK.
"We have approached architectural studios that specialize in the revitalization of public spaces. We have some sketches that we presented to the construction committee, which includes experts, as well as to the public. This naturally sparked a discussion, which is right," Vokurka stated.
In the next phase, an architectural competition should take place, from which the winning design will emerge, after which complete project documentation will be prepared. "But that is music for a relatively distant future; it depends, as is common in cities of our character, on finances. The estimated costs are 60, possibly 70 million crowns. Of course, we will seek some co-financing," the deputy mayor added.
There are bus stops at Mírové náměstí; there is no other location for them in the city center, and the square will have to accommodate them in the future. Dobříš also plans the reconstruction of Komenského náměstí. The estimated cost is 25 million crowns. If everything goes smoothly, work could begin this fall and finish next year.
