Hradec Králové - The city of Hradec Králové has obtained all building permits for the construction of a new football stadium in Malšovice, replacing the inadequate multi-purpose stadium from 1960. Recently, the city hall received permission from the road administration for the traffic connection to the arena. The permits for the actual construction of the stadium and for the water management authority were obtained earlier. This was stated today by city hall spokesman Petr Vinklář.

"After the decision of the road authority becomes legally effective, the approvals from the authorities and all permits necessary to start the construction of the new football arena in Hradec Králové will be complete,"
said the spokesman.

The cost of the arena, which will have a capacity of nearly 10,000 seated spectators, is estimated at 550 million crowns excluding VAT. The stadium will host the second league club FC Hradec Králové.

"The stadium will be built in phases. At this moment, we are addressing the details of financing the first phase, which will involve building a new western stand. In the spring, we will announce a tender for a construction company, and I believe that construction will begin in the summer," said the deputy mayor for investments, Jindřich Vedlich (TOP 09).

The city is preparing the implementation documentation, which will serve as the starting basis for the tender for the construction company. The first phase has an estimated budget of 270 million crowns and includes the demolition of the embankment of the western stand, parts of the sides, and primarily the construction of a new main western stand with facilities for the club, players, fans, and journalists. In October and November, the roof, seats, commentator's booth, and concrete on the surface of the sand embankment were removed from the western stand. The capacity of the stadium without the western stand dropped from 7,000 to 4,500 spectators.

Initially, the city hall planned to build the stadium in a cost-effective variant for 400 million crowns excluding VAT. However, in May, the councilors decided to construct a more expensive stadium with higher parameters in order to secure a grant from the Ministry of Education for the construction. The new stadium is expected to meet the requirements for international matches of the highest category with its facilities. The new stadium will also retain the typical lighting of the playing field with four so-called "lollipops," albeit in a modernized form.
