Brno - The Brno-Sever district is preparing to renovate the clubhouse in the Lesná neighborhood for 12 million crowns. This year, it plans to repair the interior spaces and utilities, while next year the focus will shift to the facade, windows, and insulation. Deputy Mayor Petr Hladík (KDU-ČSL) informed journalists about this today. According to him, the clubhouse is outdated, and it could become a Senior Point, a place for seniors to meet, and a Family Point, mainly intended for mothers with children. There will also be space in the clubhouse for various celebrations.
The two-story building was constructed in 1981 as an agitation center. "Since then, not much has been invested in it," Hladík noted. He pointed out that it is the only building in the Lesná estate suitable for community activities. "The rooms on the ground floor serve as clubrooms for senior associations or various organizations, while the first floor has a hall where councils or annual meetings of housing cooperatives take place," the deputy mayor explained.
In the first phase, the city hall will repair the rooms, sanitary facilities, electrical installations, and internal water and heating distributions. "In the upper floor, we will demolish the projection booth and stage. A social background will be created, including a kitchenette and bar counter. We will install a mobile stage, and the entire hall space will become multifunctional," described Hladík. Furthermore, council meetings will be held there, but according to him, people will be able to rent the hall for organizing celebrations or family gatherings, with the option to prepare everything in the newly built kitchenette.
Next year, the district plans a second phase, which will include insulation, window replacement, the construction of an elevator, and a new arrangement of the emergency staircase. The work will also involve the revitalization of the greenery in the surroundings. The district would like to build a parking lot next to the clubhouse; however, property relations still need to be resolved. A third of the land is owned by a private individual.
