KOMA MODULAR expanded a four-star hotel in Paris using large-space modules

The foundation of the modular extension of the four-star hotel in Paris consists of 49 large-volume modules, which enabled the expansion of the hotel by a total of 28 rooms. The new rooms are equipped with everything that is characteristic of a hotel of this standard. The comfort of hotel guests is ensured by air-conditioned rooms with controlled air exchange, while balconies provide views into the neighboring park. The well-maintained park surrounding the hotel was one of the reasons for choosing a modular extension. The client for the renovation, Serie Flex, opted for this approach considering the construction's environmental friendliness and the maximum possibility of preserving the existing greenery.

Another significant aspect for expanding the existing hotel capacities using modules was the eco-friendliness of this construction method. The hotel is taking many steps to protect the environment, whether through the planting of vegetation that absorbs hydrocarbons or a system for the regeneration and utilization of rainwater. The hotel even has five beehives, allowing guests to enjoy succulent honey called "mille fleurs" at breakfast. The company KOMA has long been striving for sustainable and recyclable construction as a basis for the circular economy, so the philosophies of both entities perfectly align in this regard.

The four-story hotel was realized according to the architectural design of the Parisian studio MARINA PROJETS & ARCHITECTURE, which also coordinated and supervised the entire implementation process. Thanks to the renovation, there has been an effective increase in capacity while maintaining the accommodation standard of a four-star hotel. The use of large-volume modules here certainly does not serve an emergency or temporary function. Along with the proposed balconies and the facade cladding used, a modern building has emerged that fully integrates into its surroundings in terms of appearance and scale.

You would also find it difficult to trace signs of the used modules in the interior; the individual rooms and common communication spaces of the hotel fully correspond to four-star accommodation. The various types of rooms are spacious, and the dimensions of the window openings ensure a visual connection with the surrounding greenery.

Hotel Relais de la Malmaison also offers its guests a range of supplementary services in the form of sports facilities. Here, you will find a tennis court, a spa with an indoor pool, a nine-hole golf course, or a running track along the Seine River.
