Kladno - In the territorial reserve of Kladno in the Růžové pole area, houses with a total of 800 apartments are set to be built. According to some opposition councilors, such as Anna Gamanová (for Kladeňáci), there is insufficient infrastructure in the area and it would be better to utilize land closer to the center, which has been long designated for such purposes. Today, the councilors approved the initiation of the official preparation process for the construction, including the change of the zoning plan, said the mayor of Kladno, Milan Volf (Choice for Kladno), to ČTK.
The construction itself could begin in a few years if authorities, including the regional government, allow the use of the territorial reserve for development. About 2,500 residents could move in.
According to Gamanová, the area lacks, for example, connections to transport infrastructure. Her party colleague Tomáš Kutil suggested that a more suitable location would be behind the train station. "Construction should take place where public infrastructure is available," Kutil stated, adding that development should be gradual and slow.
Former Kladno mayor Dan Jiránek (ODS) criticized today that the contract between the developer and the city lacks enforceability of the developer's commitments, which include building a kindergarten and contributing to increasing the capacity of the wastewater treatment plant. "There is no system of penalties," Jiránek said, also pointing out the missing determination of the needed capacity for the kindergarten. According to Mayor Volf, the planning agreement is in order, and the city will also acquire land valued at several million crowns for green space as part of the collaboration.
In the Růžové pole area, a Globus hypermarket is also expected to begin construction next year. Its construction was made possible by the coalition in 2018, when Volf was also the mayor.
