Hnanice (Znojemsko) - The South Moravian Region Council today approved the proposal for new territorial development principles in Hnanice in the Znojmo area. The document will determine, for example, the routes for newly constructed main transport and energy corridors in the region. The material, prepared for over two years, is now going into public discussion and will be available online starting Monday at www.zurka.cz. The regional governor Michal Hašek (ČSSD) informed journalists today. According to Hašek, people will have the opportunity for the first time to become familiar with the complete documentation, including both the map and text parts. "Everyone will have the chance to send their suggestions and comments by May 7. Every applicant will be notified, and we will subsequently work with these comments," Hašek stated. He mentioned that there are many places in the region where alternatives exist for solving, for example, transport constructions. Authorities, institutions, and citizens will now have the chance to express their opinions on these alternatives. The regional council will then have to select the best option. According to Hašek, the region wants as many people as possible to participate in the discussion; therefore, discussions are being planned in individual districts. The final vote on the new principles will take place, according to Hašek, before the regional elections in 2016. "There will never be 100% agreement on the territorial plan; however, we want to achieve the greatest possible consensus," Hašek stated. The region currently has no valid principles for territorial decisions because the court annulled them in 2012 due to insufficient assessment of the environmental impacts. The creators of the new principles have now drafted four possible variants for how the transport or energy network could develop.
