Havířov - A new center where people can spend their leisure time began operating today in Havířov in the Karviná region. It was created by rearranging the complex of the former kindergarten on Horymírova Street, which later housed a branch of the Havířov hospital. The spokesman for Havířov, Eva Wojnarová, informed ČTK about this. The reconstruction cost nearly seven million crowns. The internal layout was changed, workers replaced windows, repaired and insulated the roof and facade. "The facility will serve various interest groups in the city from children and youth to seniors, including the disabled," Wojnarová stated. The center now features a social hall and an acoustically equipped multipurpose hall, each for 80 people. "There is a teahouse, a clubroom, a kitchenette with social facilities, and the building is wheelchair accessible," the spokesperson for Havířov informed. The operation of the center, which will cost about two million crowns annually, will be funded by the city. "It will be managed by a self-government made up of representatives of the interest groups that will meet here," Wojnarová added, noting that the center will initially operate on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00, but weekend operations are also planned for the future.
