Prague - The Prague Municipal Court will today decide on the appeals in the dispute between the company WBC Capital and the State Cultural Fund. The Seychellois company is claiming 60 million crowns with interest in connection with the reconstruction of the cubist Prague House at the Black Maiden. The house was renovated in the 1990s by the subsequently bankrupt Konstruktiva, from which WBC purchased the claim for 4.3 million crowns.

An interim ruling granted the company only a fraction of the requested amount this January - 3.5 million crowns with interest. Both parties to the dispute have appealed against the verdict. However, the State Cultural Fund only disagrees with the determined compensation for legal costs; otherwise, it is satisfied with the decision.

The appellate court annulled the previous three rulings in the dispute. For the third time, it ordered the District Court for Prague 6 to replace the judge and also to commission a new expert opinion. According to this opinion, the reconstruction increased the value of the monument by 19 million crowns. However, from this amount, the court subtracted the income that Konstruktiva earned from renting the House at the Hyberns from 1993 to 1996.
