Prague - The title Building of the Year can be won this year in its 22nd edition by, for example, the Central European Institute of Technology CEITEC, the reconstruction of the cable car to Sněžka, the Děčín Brewery Center, or the bike path across the Elbe in Čelákovice. A total of 15 buildings have made it to the finals. The final nominations were announced today by ABF - The Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction, which organizes the competition.

Just as in previous years, this year's edition is open to all buildings without distinction of type or the amount of costs incurred for their acquisition. A condition for entry into the competition was the completion and commissioning or approval during the period from June 2013 to this May.
This year's novelty is the Prize from the Ministry for Regional Development and the Association for Urbanism and Spatial Planning for public space, which was awarded to the Reconstruction of the Vršovice Castle in Prague.
A total of 58 Czech projects and five foreign ones have entered this year’s Building of the Year competition. In the end, five buildings will receive the title without distinction of ranking. They will be chosen by a jury led by architect Radomíra Sedláková. The announcement of the results will take place on October 9 in the Senate during the eighth edition of Building and Architecture Days.
