Třebíč - Třebíč is preparing a new zoning plan. The current one was approved in 1998 and does not comply with the new construction law. It has already undergone ten changes, and two more are planned in the near future. A tender for its preparation will be announced in the spring, and the representatives could approve the new zoning plan during 2014. The mayor Pavel Heřman said this to the journalists today. "The zoning plan will shape the appearance of the city for the next 15 years," said Heřman. The current document addresses only the city itself, while the new plan will cover the entire administrative area, including the local parts. It will set the prerequisites for further development of the city, addressing new development locations, the development of engineering networks, and the transport system. "It should also correct the conditions for the construction of the city bypass," Heřman stated. According to the city architect Lubor Herzán, who will be involved in the creation of the document, future developments should not consist of isolated areas with a single function, such as delineated industrial zones or areas reserved solely for housing. On the contrary, in the future, cohesive locations should emerge in the city that feature a mix of housing, employment opportunities, and civic amenities. This will, among other things, have a positive impact on urban transport. "I will support this trend, even though it will just be one of the pieces in the overall mosaic of the new zoning plan," Herzán said.
