Karviná – A spa promenade has been created between buildings A and B of the Rehabilitation Sanatorium of Darkov Spa in Karviná-Hranice. There used to be a grassy area, but the spa constructed a park with a solid surface, flowerbeds, and benches. There is also new lighting. The spa spent approximately 2.8 million crowns on this, said Pavlína Filipi, the general director of Darkov Spa, to journalists.
"We have large, extensive spa parks that are full of trees, but we did not have such a colonnade with flowers and patterns like those in Luhačovice, 'Mariánky,' or Františkovy Lázně, so we completed it," said Filipi.
According to her, the population is aging and for many patients or visitors to the spa, it is already difficult to walk to more distant areas of the park. "We know that many of our clients will not reach the tennis courts anymore. There used to be a large lawn there, where wildlife roamed and lived its own life. We shortened the path to the bus stop, which we will also be doing at the spa's expense by the end of the year," said the director.
According to her, in recent years, the spa has mainly invested inside the buildings, so they wanted to improve something outside as well. "The project was created two years ago. We were processing permits, and this year we found out that we had leftover funds in the budget for it," said Filipi.
Darkov Spa focuses on the treatment of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Its owner is billionaire Zdeněk Zemek, who also owns spa complexes in Luhačovice, Mariánské Lázně, Velké Losiny, and Ostrožská Nová Ves, among others.
