Semily - A new interlocking pavement and a modern concrete fountain decorate Riegrovo Square in Semily. This marks the end of the first phase of its reconstruction. It cost 7.5 million crowns and was financed 90 percent by the state. This was stated today by Mayor Jan Farský. "The original extracted pavement was not worn out enough, so we used it for sidewalk repairs in several places in the city," he added, noting that repairing the remaining part of the square, which has an asphalt parking lot, will be more labor-intensive. "We need to improve its overall appearance. Separate the parked cars, introduce greenery, and also change the pavement," Farský specified. The city wants the public to be involved in the preparation of the proposal for the new appearance of the square. The second phase of the reconstruction is also expected to cost around seven million crowns. In this case, Semily also aims to obtain a subsidy. However, if they are unsuccessful, they will pay for the repair from their own budget.
