PRAGUE - Three interested parties want to buy and renovate the dilapidated Obecní dvůr near Haštalské náměstí in Prague 1. In the original buildings, apartments and smaller retail spaces are to be created. A new residential building is also planned to be constructed on the premises. Candidates could submit their bids for the selection process to the city hall until noon today. This was stated by councilor Pavel Klega (ODS).
The basic condition of the city is that the investor restore the valuable buildings. Therefore, the city hall wants to first lease the area to the selected applicant for a certain period. The sale would follow once the construction work is completed. This way, the city ensures that Obecní dvůr will be used according to the city hall's vision.
According to Klega, bids were submitted by the companies Proxy finance, První IS, and Construzione Manghi Tre Colli. They will first be assessed by the property commission of the councilors. Then the council will consider the potential sale of the premises, with the final decision resting with the representatives.
The current value of the premises is approximately 65 million crowns. The estimated costs for its restoration are 170 million crowns.
The Obecní dvůr once housed facilities for firefighters and municipal services. In the last century, part of the premises was assigned to power plants, and the city regained it in a court dispute. In August 2002, the buildings were hit by flooding. Since then, they have been almost empty, with only the caretaker living there.
Originally, the Old Town Obecní dvůr was a late Gothic building built in the 16th century. Additional wings were added later. The current appearance of the complex dates back to the mid-19th century.
