On Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 3:40 PM, we cordially invite you to a lecture by Austrian architect Matthias Hein, who will speak as part of the Wood Construction Salon at the Prague-Holešovice Exhibition Centre.

In the introduction, the Austrian architect's lecture will reflect on wooden constructions in Vorarlberg and the region as a whole. Over the last fifty years, Vorarlberg has developed into an area that is drawing global attention due to its unusually high density of quality architecture. We will learn directly from the architect, who lives and works in the city of Bregenz, the center of this region, how this extraordinary development occurred.

Furthermore, architect Matthias Hein will discuss the goals of his architectural office HEIN architekten and concepts such as "building culture" and "added value" in Austrian architecture. With the help of examples of realized projects from recent years, he will share his experiences in the field of wooden constructions with the audience.

The focus will be on presenting a recently completed project of a kindergarten, which has also appeared in the new Yearbook of Wooden Constructions 2013, and you will have the opportunity to see it at the Wood Construction Salon as part of the Wood Constructions 2014 fair. The Muntlix kindergarten sets new standards in the construction of public buildings, particularly regarding the elimination of ecological footprints.

Alongside architect Matthias Hein, architect Geir Brendeland from Norway and Pavol Pokorný from Slovakia will also be presenting on Saturday afternoon!
