The first of the walks through the Prague villa colony of Bubenec will follow the trails of conservative builders inhabiting the houses around the former estate of Zátorka. We will introduce you not only to significant personalities of the First Republic, but also to the stories of lesser-known families that lived here before World War II. You will visit the villa of the former Czechoslovak communist politician Rudolf Slánský, Beneš's villa, and the famous villa Bianca by Jan Kotěra. The walk will remind us not only of the fates of selected houses during World War II and their post-war history but, above all, of those who stayed here. You will learn, for example, who Prague owes for the existence of the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds, Applied Arts Museum, and the AVIA aircraft factories.
