Ještěd in a Cage is a competition held at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of the Technical University of Liberec, organized by its students.
This year's already 23rd edition will start on Monday, February 10, 2020, and will culminate in the announcement of the winners on Friday, February 14, 2020.
The opening of the JFK week will take place at Vokno in the form of concerts by two Prague indie-rock bands — Iggy Mayerov and Branko’s Bridge.
On Tuesday, there will be a lecture on the Paper "Square" at the Antiquarian Bookstore and Fryč Bookstore. The topic will be presented by Liberec historian Jan Mohr, and architect Jiří Žid will offer possible solutions.
Wednesday will be dedicated to workshops. In the Karel Hubáček Studio, there will be a bookbinding workshop and a workshop on recycled sublimation printing on t-shirts.
On Thursday, the jury will review all the works created at FUA TUL during the past winter semester. The jury is thematically composed of graduates from the Faculty of Art and Architecture, as it celebrates a beautiful 25 years of existence this year! Therefore, the winners will be decided by: Eliška Slámová, Jana Bernartová, Filip Landa, Jiří Hořavka, and Petr Štefek.
The last JFK day will be exceptionally enriched with a program celebrating 25 years of FUA TUL, which is full of (not only) alumni surprises. The doors of the Karel Hubáček Studio will open at 3:00 PM and will remain open until late evening.
The highlight of the evening and the entire Ještěd in a Cage will be the grand announcement of the winners of Ještěd in a Cage, which will start at 9:00 PM.
The studio will, of course, be filled with not only friendly visitors but also plenty of good food and drink.
Don’t miss Ještěd in a Cage and come to take a look!
