Brno - Brno is looking for a contractor for a large-scale reconstruction of Údolní Street in the section from Husova to Úvoz. The work includes the repair of sewerage, water supply, road, lighting, sidewalks, tram tracks, trolleybus wiring, as well as the modification of greenery and street furniture. The estimated cost is expected to be 370 million crowns excluding tax, the city hall informed after today's meeting of the councillors in a press release.
"The section of Údolní from Úvoz to Kraví hora has already undergone reconstruction, and the part between Úvoz and Husova will now receive attention. We expect that the work could start this July and will last for 17 months," stated Mayor Markéta Vaňková (ODS).
The layout of the street will largely remain preserved. "In the direction from the city center, a cycle lane and a bus stop island will be added in the section from Marešova to Úvoz. In the opposite direction, there will be cycle pictograms. Due to excessive drying, it has been found that some trees that are in poor health will need to be removed. We plan to plant 44 trees, either as replacements for the removed trees or as additions along the sidewalks between Marešova and Úvoz," said Deputy Mayor René Černý (ANO).
Interested parties can now apply for the public contract. The commission will then choose the economically most advantageous offer. The construction also includes the creation of 1,380 square meters of parking spaces, parking lanes, and stalls, which corresponds to approximately 110 parking spots.
