At the end of the year, long-time editor Zuzana Morávková was appointed as the new editor-in-chief of the architectural magazine ERA21, continuing the work of her predecessor Osamu Okamura. "Zuzana Morávková is undoubtedly among the most experienced Czech architectural editors, and she also has experience in creative architectural practice and working in leading domestic studios. The magazine is thus receiving a new impulse and a clear organizational structure while maintaining stability and quality of content." commented Osamu Okamura on the change. After a two-year period during which Osamu Okamura, Marcela Steinbachová, and Filip Landa alternated in leading individual issues, ERA21 is transitioning to a new system of work with curators who will focus on selected themes over the long term. "My goal is to strengthen the magazine's position at the top of the Czech market and to continue to address current topics related to architecture. We would like to reach a broad group of readers, not only among architects but also among the public interested in developments in related fields. We want ERA21 to be more visible than ever."
Zuzana Morávková studied at the Faculty of Architecture at the VUT in Brno (1996-2003). After a brief internship at the DRNH studio, she joined the editorial team of ERA21 in 2004. Since 2008, she has focused on design, initially in her own studio and later at the Brno studio knesl+kynčl architects, where she worked on projects of various scopes ranging from interiors to urban planning. Since January 2013, she has been a member of the editorial team of ERA21 again. She has experience in organizing architectural competitions, preparing exhibitions, writing texts and interviews about architecture, and occasionally collaborates with the non-profit organization Kruh. She is a member of the Brno na kole association and in her free time promotes urban cycling.
