Exceptional wooden constructions are aiming for the roof
Bílovice 519 will offer the best from the Czech and Slovak architectural scene
To bring closer their utility and aesthetic value and place them in the context of sustainable construction. It is with this ambition that the traveling exhibition of the Salon of Wooden Constructions was created. After installations in Prague and Bratislava, 39 projects will be on display in Bílovice near Uherské Hradiště. The exhibition at the Egoé company premises carries the subtitle Wooden Constructions on Wooden Constructions. This reflects the fact that it is a place where wooden buildings are designed, manufactured, and used. The vernissage will take place on October 19.
Every year, the Salon of Wooden Constructions project offers the most interesting in the field – showcasing exceptional projects, demonstrating cutting-edge technologies and their application in architecturally attractive buildings. It serves as inspiration for investors, architects, contractors, developers, and the general public. It opens topics related to the use of ecological materials and responsible lifestyles through wooden constructions for housing, industry, and the public sector.
The vernissage will take place on October 19, 2023, at 5 PM, and the exhibition will be accessible at the Egoé premises at Bílovice 519 until January 2, 2024. More information at www.poledesignu.cz.
Wooden Constructions on Wooden Constructions In Prague, the Salon of Wooden Constructions exhibition was installed at the piazzetta of the National Theatre, and in Bratislava at the Gallery of the Slovak Architects' Union. In Bílovice, the project will aim even higher – at the flat roof of one of the buildings. „This is an attractive space, and there is also symbolism in it. The object, which houses offices, meeting rooms, and showrooms, belongs to the category of large multifunctional wooden constructions,“ says art and architecture historian Dan Merta, who oversees the exhibition activities at the Egoé site in Bílovice.
A Selection of Berries and a Debate at the Wooden Table Part of the Wooden Constructions on Wooden Constructions project includes accompanying events. This mainly consists of an excursion to see the best examples of wooden constructions in Slovácko and Valašsko. It is intended for both professional and general public audiences. It is planned for October 19, from 12 PM to 5 PM. During this time, participants can visit the headquarters of Kloboucká lesní in Brumov-Bylnice, the Parish Center in Lidečko, the lookout tower in Vysoké Pole, or the Ulita house and the administrative building in Bílovice.
From 5:30 PM, an expert debate will be waiting for interested parties in Bílovice, featuring architect Kamil Mrva, owner of Kloboucká lesní Vojta Dorňák, architect and managing director of the studio Prodesi/Domesi Pavel Horák, and Radek Hegmon, chief designer and owner of Egoé. „In the debate, we want to open an important topic that has not resonated enough so far – that the path to true sustainability leads through quality. And that, whether we talk about materials, design, or construction solutions, is definitely not cheap,“ notes Dan Merta.
Note for editors The exhibition Wooden Constructions on Wooden Constructions is part of the long-term platform Pole designu. The goal is to create a multifunctional space in the premises of the former agricultural cooperative in Bílovice that offers inspiration. The aim is supported by continuous and temporary exhibitions dedicated to design and architecture, examples of public space solutions, artistic workshops, or meetings at events directly in the premises and the adjacent campsite. Pole designu is sponsored by the Egoé holding, which took over the entire area years ago as a brownfield and is gradually giving it new functionality.
