Prague - The head of the metropolitan plan office at the Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) will be architect Roman Koucký, who will be appointed in January. IPR director Ondřej Boháč said this today to ČTK. Koucký led a team of architects working on the plan until this summer. The former director of IPR, architect Petr Hlaváček, is to become the head of the IPR council. IPR is a Prague contribution organization responsible, among other things, for urban planning.

"I will appoint Mr. Hlaváček to the council and recommend him to become the chairman of the council. Architect Koucký won the selection process, so I have no reason to proceed otherwise," said Boháč.

Hlaváček was dismissed from the position of IPR director in September, one of the reasons being alleged misconduct in the creation of the urban plan. Koucký submitted his resignation from his position when Hlaváček was dismissed. However, he subsequently won the selection process for the head of the Metropolitan Plan. Along with Koucký, experts and members of the mentioned team left IPR, and they are now negotiating with IPR whether they would complete the plan.

The Institute is tasked, among other things, with preparing a new urban plan and planning the development of the city. The annual budget of IPR is about 300 million crowns.
