Brno - The several-day halt in the construction of the AZ Tower skyscraper in Brno due to severe frosts will not jeopardize the completion timeline of the building. Workers are already continuing with the concrete work on the 13th floor, and the tallest building in the Czech Republic is expected to be finished in April 2013. Petr Teplý from Properity said this to ČTK today.

"We anticipated the frosts; the construction was halted for about five or six days during the lowest temperatures. Now everything is functioning as it should. The workers are currently pouring concrete for the 13th floor of 30," said Teplý. The skeleton of the building is expected to be completed by the end of October, and under good climatic conditions, the building is rising by an average of one floor every two weeks. According to Teplý, the builders do not expect further complications related to the weather.
The AZ Tower will measure 111 meters, making it the tallest building in the Czech Republic. The building is already half rented, and construction has so far cost more than 200 million crowns. Investors want to incorporate eco-friendly technologies into it, such as covering the entire elevator shaft with photovoltaic panels that will supply electricity to the common areas. Offices, shops, and apartments are still available for sale or rent in the AZ Tower. For example, an apartment of nearly 74 square meters costs over five million crowns.
