Třebíč - The reconstruction of the ice stadium in Třebíč costing more than 500 million crowns will begin on April 2. The Třebíč City Hall today signed a contract with the selected supplier, a consortium of companies PKS stavby and Geosan. This was stated by the spokesperson of the city hall, Irini Martakidisová, in today's press release.

"Hockey is a very popular sport in the city and the entire region, and our ice rink is utilized to the maximum. The project preparation alone took four years, and we were then slightly delayed by financial conditions. Now construction is starting, and we can look forward to a new, dignified, and modern stadium,” said Třebíč mayor Pavel Pacal (For Třebíč).

The reconstruction of the ice stadium, planned until January 2026, aims to primarily improve its facilities. The plan includes expanding the rear part so that dressing rooms and sanitary facilities can be created there. The stands and cooling technology will also be modified. The outdated ammonia system is to be replaced by a freon one. The ice surface and the refreshment area for visitors will also be new. Currently, up to 5,000 people can be in the stands, with a significant portion of the seats being standing places. After the renovation, the stands will accommodate 2,400 people, with all seats being seated.
