Brno - The Building of the Year 2013 in the South Moravian Region includes, among others, the tallest building in the country - the AZ Tower skyscraper. Among the awarded is also a passive residential building for seniors in Modřice. The organizers of the competition from the South Moravian Construction Association told ČTK. The awards were presented today at the construction fairs in Brno to the winners.

    The AZ Tower is the best building for civic amenities. One year ago, it became the tallest building in the Czech Republic at 111 meters, surpassing the Prague office tower City Tower by two meters. It is a joint investment by the developer Properity and the construction company PSJ.
    The residential building for seniors in Modřice won in the category of residential buildings. It is the first passive house for seniors in the Czech Republic. It has been open since January 2014. Its construction lasted a year and a half and cost 64 million crowns. It offers 41 comfortable apartments. Interest from seniors has exceeded all expectations.
