Erasmus Residence - another project by Trikaya
Brno - The company Trikaya plans to start demolishing the unfinished Ergon factory under the former Hády quarry in Brno this autumn. A smaller residential district worth about one billion crowns is set to rise on the site. Project manager Alexej Veselý confirmed this to ČTK today.

The company will begin dismantling the remains of the unfinished factory in October, and it should completely disappear by the beginning of next year. The residential district project, intended for families, is expected to be completed by the end of next year, with construction starting the following year. "The first houses will be ready for occupancy by the beginning of 2014," Veselý stated.
In addition to houses, a grocery store and a kindergarten are also planned for the site. The investor anticipates that people from the Maloměřice borough will also benefit from these services. The area will provide housing for two to three hundred families.
The best student architectural studies will determine what the district will look like. Before finalizing the projects, the investor plans to hold a public discussion; on Monday, they will present visualizations and models of the best proposals from students of the Faculty of Architecture and Art at the Technical University of Liberec.
The Ergon factory began construction in 1988 but was never completed, and thus it never produced anything. The factory was being built by the national enterprise Ergos, which manufactured health and rehabilitation aids. "It was a massive factory project intended to supply products to Ergos in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc. These plans were thwarted by the year 1989, and although the factory was essentially finished and less than five months of work remained until its launch, it was never completed," Veselý noted.
According to him, the project in Maloměřice is one of the largest current development projects focusing on residential complexes in Brno. Trikaya is also constructing the controversial Erasmus apartment building in Královo Pole. The investor originally lost his building permit, which he received only this January. The construction is in the process of inspection.
