Brno - The tallest building in the Czech Republic, the AZ Tower skyscraper, will be ceremoniously opened in Brno on Wednesday. It measures 111 meters. A day before the opening, Properity, one of the project's investors, reports that two-thirds of all spaces are already occupied. The sold or rented spaces are primarily luxury apartments in the upper floors of the skyscraper. For the price of 16 million crowns without VAT, the largest one has also found its owner—a maisonette with an area of 330 square meters located on the 28th and 29th floors of the building. Gabriela Pokorná from the real estate agency MIG PARTNER, s.r.o. stated that the apartments sold quickly, but the situation is worse with offices. The total construction cost of the AZ Tower was previously reported to be 800 million crowns. The building was constructed by PSJ from Jihlava, which is one of the project's investors. Previously, the tallest building in the Czech Republic was the City Tower in Prague. The Brno AZ Tower surpassed it by two meters. "In recent months, we have rented or sold several commercial units. All thanks to a special promotion that we announced. We offer all interested parties the option of leasing with the possibility of later purchase," said Petr Teplý from Properity to ČTK. Residents are already slowly moving into the building and setting up their offices. According to Pokorná from the real estate agency involved in selling spaces in the AZ Tower, the project has appealed to many Brno residents. "For a moment, they gained a feeling that something extraordinary has emerged in Brno, which we can be proud of. During the open house days, we as sellers recorded great interest in tours, however, it eventually turned out that this building will attract ordinary Brno residents more as a tourist attraction rather than as an investment subject," stated Pokorná. The economic recession has affected the sales of spaces, according to her. Clients are very carefully considering where to invest their money. The apartments sold quickly even at an average price of 66,000 crowns per square meter without VAT. "The situation is worse for offices and commercial spaces, as there is no demand for them," added Pokorná. Teplý noted that the commercial arcade, shops, restaurants, and fitness centers in the building will start operating in September. Only two out of fourteen shops are still available. There will also be a car showroom in the building. Above it, the company offers vacant offices for rent, of which there are plenty available in the area.
