At the end of 2019, a thematic issue of the magazine ERA21 dedicated to Polish architecture was published. The subtitle of the issue – Poland: Between Yesterday and Tomorrow – refers to the transformation process that has been taking place in Poland since 1989, also in terms of changing architectural visions. The magazine includes an interview with Warsaw's city architect Marlene Happach, whom we decided to invite to Prague. Ultimately, her representative Wojciech Wagner will replace her in the discussion for personal reasons.
Prague and Warsaw share the fate of capital cities as well as a history woven with the impacts of planned development. However, their starting positions differ. Warsaw was almost destroyed during World War II and still struggles with partially finding its own identity. In a discussion with four urban planning experts, we will compare approaches to spatial development in Warsaw and Prague and present how both cities could inspire each other.

The discussion table will include:
Wojciech Wagner, Deputy Director of the Office of Architecture and Spatial Planning of the Capital City of Warsaw (BAiPP)
Monika Konrad, Director of the Urban Department of Spatial Planning and Development Strategies of the Capital City of Warsaw (MPPPiSR)
Lada Kolaříková, Director of the City Planning Section at IPR Prague
Jaromír Hainc, Director of the City Detail Section at IPR Prague

The discussion will be conducted in Czech and Polish with simultaneous translation. The moderator will be the editor-in-chief of the magazine ERA21, Filip Landa.
