Johannes Robbrecht: Anthology of Architecture During more than 40 years of its existence, the architectural office Robbrecht en Daem architecten based in Ghent has dealt with a whole range of different themes, programs, and projects. From a puppet theater or an exhibition pavilion based on their numerical system "Louie" to a 1:1 model based on the drawings of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and to a headquarters for a broadcasting company in their homeland. The lecture will be interwoven with their "dialogues" with the masters of architecture, collaborations with leading artists, and will introduce a diverse overview of their work, key projects, and ideas.
Guy Mouton: Structural Expression – Architectural Structures Mouton focuses on designing structures and processing construction projects with an emphasis on architectural projects. The philosophy of this design office is that construction should be understood as part of architecture and, just like architecture, must have its design. Moreover, construction is often an inseparable part of architecture and plays a key role in the perception of the entire design. Our goal is to develop a strong structural concept for each project individually while participating in the resulting form of the design. Guy Mouton, the founder of the Mouton design office, will focus on selected projects in Prague on the relationship between the structural concept in architectural work and how a well-chosen structural concept can enhance the resulting architecture.
