39. Pre-lecture series Art yesterday and today on the theme Workshops of UMPRUM. The history, present, and life in them will be presented in the third lecture, which this time will focus on the Glass Grinding Workshop and glassmaking at UMPRUM. Antonín Votruba, Barbora Štefánková, and Ivan Pokorný will be the speakers.
Antonín Votruba joined UMPRUM as a workshop master in the 1970s and immediately successfully tackled the significant challenge of building, equipping, and launching the workshop. He experienced the development of the Glass Atelier under the leadership of Stanislav Libenský, Vladimír Kopecký, and currently Rony Plesl. In his lecture, he will not only reminisce about life in the workshop and the Glass Atelier but will also remind us, together with his colleague Barbora Štefánková, of the move to the new building of the Technology Center of UMPRUM, where they restarted production on the original refurbished glass grinders and other machines. Since the glass grinding workshop is linked to other glass workshops, the workshop master Ivan Pokorný will supplement the information.
