The base of the Alu Inside plastic profile, this year's innovations presented by Schüco, consists of an energy-optimized structure without steel reinforcements. The profile, with a building depth of 82 mm, is based on a patented technology that combines aluminum with plastic, previously used in the proven Schüco Corona SI 82+ system. However, the new Alu Inside window system exhibits better thermal and static properties, while consuming less material and allowing for more environmentally friendly production. Additionally, the Alu Inside system is offered at a price comparable to traditional systems with steel reinforcement of the same building depth. By replacing old windows with energy-efficient Alu Inside profiles, households in a typical family home can save up to 33% of their current energy consumption. At the same time, this will relieve the environment by nearly 4,500 kg of CO2 emissions annually.
Ten years ago, Schüco confirmed through the Corona SI 82+ profile that a plastic profile can easily function without steel reinforcement. The essence is a patented process whereby aluminum strips are extruded directly into the plastic profile during production. These strips maintain stability in the profile and, due to their reflective surface, additionally reduce heat transfer. The optimal chamber distribution, restriction of airflow in the leaf's groove, and sufficiently sized chambers for placing insulation are further guarantees of the attractive thermal insulation value Uf, which reaches a level of 0.76 W/m²K for the Alu Inside profile.
The seven-chamber profile Schüco Alu Inside exhibits static properties that are on par with profiles with steel reinforcement. In cases of particularly high static demands, one of the insulation chambers is available that can be additionally equipped with reinforcement. The profile allows for the installation of triple-glazed units up to 52 mm thick and meets security class RC2 without additional reinforcement. Narrow visible widths and classic geometry of the leaf with clear lines meet the timeless design of modern architecture. There are no limits to the choice of color finishes, with three options available. The profile is compatible with Schüco AutomotiveFinish surface treatment technology. The result is metallic shades that make the plastic profile indistinguishable from aluminum at first glance. Additionally, there are overlays with common films or powder-coated aluminum cover strips Corona TopAlu.
