With more than one hundred years of experience and working with wood, Kährs, the oldest European manufacturer of wooden floor coverings, has utilized this expertise for innovations in the field of flooring. The Swedish brand has transformed its knowledge of using and refining natural raw materials into new collections of trendy mineral SPC coverings, which are purely natural floors with a core made of crushed stone, or into a new generation of vinyls without harmful phthalates. Nordic motifs of sand dunes, deep forests, and mountain masses are reflected in the design of collections with wood and stone decors (including Kährs Nordic, Kährs Impression Wood and Stone, Kährs Herringbone, Kährs Ranch), which are exclusively imported to us by Kratochvíl parket profi.

The tradition and craftsmanship heritage of the European leader in wooden floors dates back to 1857. Kährs has the typical ecological approach for Nordic countries deeply embedded in its DNA for just as long. Who better to develop and improve flooring products in the spirit of modern technologies?

Kährs entered the segment of elastic coverings five years ago to offer a new generation of natural mineral SPC floors as well as modern vinyls that have focused on their ecological parameters, health safety, and eliminated harmful phthalates. Kährs vinyls of course have a proven origin and health safety certification, which is important to check for these coverings. Quality is evidenced by several certificates, including Floorscore, M1, and the prestigious Émissions dans l’air intérieur. Eco-friendly floors made from the purest raw materials, free from phthalates, ensure a healthy indoor climate without impacting the environment.

Kährs mineral coverings and vinyls offer identical decors with different installation methods

In addition to ecological certificates, Kährs SPC coverings and vinyls share common decors (wooden and stone imitations), differing only in the method of installation – mineral coverings are installed using the Click 5G locking system (thickness variants of 5 and 6 mm), while vinyls are glued. Wooden decors with a matte to ultra-matte surface offer a real wood texture, with micro-beveled edges on all sides of the plank emphasizing the impression of real boards.

Both types of coverings achieve excellent longevity and durability with a wear class of 23/34/43, making them suitable for areas with high traffic (hotels, offices, shops, hospitals, and private residences). The floors are waterproof and suitable for underfloor heating. The coverings, differing in cores, consist of 5 layers, with the top surface of both SPC and vinyls treated with a ceramic surface finish that is resistant to denting, scratching, and the effects of chemicals. Additionally, it allows for easy maintenance.

SPC coverings are the current hit…

SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) coverings are the current trend. The key component of these extremely durable coverings from the Kährs collections is an innovative mixture of minerals and modern polymers, providing flexibility, health safety, maximum resistance, and dimensional and shape stability. The floor with a mineral core, thus a material created by nature itself, is highly strong, resistant to point loads and overall wear. It also has greater shape stability, yet it is soft (compared to, for example, laminate floors), feels warm to the touch, is flexible, and cushions impacts. The bottom side of Kährs SPC coverings is equipped with an IXPE soundproof underlay that absorbs noise, effectively reducing it by up to 20 dB, while also making walking more comfortable. SPC floors feature a unique Click 5G lock for easy floating installation, available in thicknesses of 5 and 6 mm with a complete range of trims for each decor. Notably, they also require minimal maintenance over the years of use, thanks to the smooth ceramic surface that prevents dirt and debris accumulation.

…vinyls remain an evergreen

Vinyl coverings, which have improved their health safety and eliminated harmful phthalates, are an evergreen in flooring. In Kährs' offering, they provide the same decors as SPC coverings, but in glued form with a thickness of 2.5 mm. A compelling reason for their popularity remains their price.

Inspired by the northern nature and wild horses from the American Northwest

The northern roots are undeniable in the current collections of mineral coverings and vinyls from Kährs, both technologically and aesthetically. The tones of wooden decors in the Kährs Nordic Classic collection draw inspiration from sand dunes, coastal shores, deep forests, and mountain peaks. The northern landscape is also embodied in the Kährs Click Herringbone collection, which includes a series of shorter planks specially designed for installation in a herringbone pattern, ranging from light to dark shades.

The names of geographical locations and peaks of the world mountains are reflected in the collections of wooden and stone decors Kährs Impression Wood and Stone, from warm oak to timeless granite, all ensuring modern elegance. In a wide range of nine colors, this collection also reflects the diverse landscape of northern Europe, with shades and nuances drawing inspiration from the golden afternoon sun and the dark earthy tones of deep forests.

The Kährs Ranch collection features a more rustic design in five natural oak colors and draws inspiration from the mountainous nature of the American Northwest. Its ruggedness is balanced by soft colors representing the warm and touchably soft coat of wild horses roving the landscape.

The French certificate measuring emissions Émissions dans l’air intérieur, class A+ is the highest rating. France has introduced mandatory labeling of products according to the amount of volatile organic compound emissions. This labeling applies to insulation, floors, floor coverings, wallpaper, wall materials, as well as paints, varnishes, adhesives, etc. Limits are set for total emissions of volatile organic compounds and 10 chemical compounds: such as formaldehyde, toluene, styrene, xylene.

The Finnish certificate M1 tracks total emissions of volatile organic compounds (TVOC), emissions of formaldehyde and ammonia, carcinogenic substances, and odor.
