Brno - The VELUX company, a leading manufacturer of roof windows and their accessories, presents for the first time in the world an innovative novelty - a skylight with rounded glazing. Architects and homeowners will appreciate this attractive solution for flat roofs. The new skylight with rounded frameless glazing will be available in eight different sizes and at an affordable price.

The elegant minimalist skylight with rounded glazing presents a great solution for those planning to brighten spaces under a flat roof and expecting more from a roof window than just a shield against adverse weather. This innovative design ensures perfect drainage of rain even on roofs with a slope of 0 degrees. It also offers an intense source of daylight and fresh air, along with a clear view of the sky. Rounded glazing is available for both fixed and electrically operated skylights. The electrically operated variant provides maximum comfort not only in terms of the amount of incoming light but also in controlled natural ventilation.

"The curve of the skylight smoothly and harmoniously connects to the roof surface. The frameless rounded glass not only offers an elegant design but also unparalleled functionality in draining water from the surface of the skylight," specified Klára Bukolská, chief architect of VELUX Czech Republic.
For skylights with rounded glazing, an ideal solution for reducing overheating is a solar-controlled outdoor awning (MSG), and for light regulation, use interior electrically or solar-powered pleated blinds (FMG electrically operated pleated blind, FMK electrically operated double pleated blind, FSK solar-powered double pleated blind).

Zero roof slope

In the past, if you wanted to use a completely glass skylight on a flat roof, it had to have at least a slight slope. Alternatively, it was necessary to create a slanted frame to allow water to run off the surface of the glass. VELUX skylights with rounded glazing can now be used on roofs with slopes from 0 to 15 degrees, opening up entirely new possibilities for architects.

The tempered glass of the skylight, with a thickness of up to 6 mm, is sufficiently scratch-resistant against hail or frozen rain and represents a permanent part of the roof with regards to the future.

Clear view of the sky

The VELUX skylight with rounded glazing allows the roof to be used as an attractive source of daylight, enabling homeowners to reap all its benefits - uninterrupted views of the sky, enjoying the changing rhythm of the day, as well as access to plenty of fresh air and daylight. In simple terms, connecting with nature.

Unlike façade windows, which only illuminate the perimeter of a room, the skylight can be placed directly above a favorite part of the house, where it ensures the highest amount of daylight for work, relaxation, cooking, or entertainment.
