The architectural office DAM architekti has been operating in the Czech market for more than 30 years. It designs buildings throughout the Czech Republic and abroad, although its primary focus is on projects in Prague. Among the most well-known projects are the BBC Filadelfie administrative building, Main Point Pankrác, and Palác Euro on Wenceslas Square. A significant part of the project portfolio consists not only of new buildings but also of the reconstruction of historical buildings often accompanied by modern extensions. The core team of permanent collaborators at DAM currently comprises about 15 people, mostly architects. In addition, DAM has a background of a spectrum of experienced specialized offices in related professions, allowing it to guarantee a comprehensive delivery of design work, including consultations, even for large-scale investment projects. As the only Czech office, it holds the award for the best office building in the world in the MIPIM Award competition for the Main Point Karlín building.
The history of the office dates back to 1989, when its founders Richard Doležal and Petr Malinský first met. Two years later, in 1991, the DAM brand was officially established. In the first two decades of the new millennium, it was led by a group of five architects: Richard Doležal, Petr Burian, Jiří Havrda, Jiří Hejda, and Jan Holna. Currently, the firm has two managing partners, Jiří Hejda and Jan Holna, who lead the office together with the founding partner Richard Doležal.
