The Croatian studio 3LDH won the competition for a private clinic in Split

The Croatian studio 3LHD won a private architectural competition for the design of a private clinic in Split. The polyclinic will be built in the Firule area, where the conditions for its establishment are exceptionally suitable - it is a quiet part of Split, close to a hospital complex, and fresh healthy air flows in from the nearby sea.
Designing a building with a clearly defined construction program requires a maximally pragmatic approach, respecting the assignment, integrating technical and technological equipment into the project, and emphasizing functionality. It was essential to design the vertical arrangement of all required functions for diagnosis, doctor's offices, laboratories, and others. Publicly accessible spaces are located in the basement, ground floor, and first floor, while patient rooms and administration are on the upper floors, with parking in the underground.
The exterior of the building attracts attention with its facade, consisting of horizontal bands that wrap around the clinic like a bandage around patients. The bands are designed with regard to the regulation of natural light in the interiors and as protection against direct sunlight.
Atria and loggias run through all the floors in the interior, connecting individual spaces. Instead of the usual hospital corridors, there are spaces for relaxation with Mediterranean flora and wooden terraces overlooking the sea and nearby islands. Patients, staff, and visitors can rest here, breathe in the fresh sea air, or take a walk (even in pajamas).

Another fresh success for the 3LHD studio is the award in the competition for the urban design of the development along the Duilovo waterfront. 3LHD proposed an urban neighborhood that should be functionally connected to the sea, similar to many contemporary European and world cities (Barcelona, Valencia, Rotterdam, Sydney, etc.).
In the competition, no first or second prize was awarded, and the third prize is shared equally between 3LHD and the teams Nemico d.o.o. + Porticus d.o.o. and Produkcija 004. The jury recommended organizing a workshop, during which all awarded teams would collaborate on the design.
