The ninth year of the student work competition Bohuslav Fuchs Award took place on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. On this hot summer day, the expert jury consisting of Ing. arch. Pavla Melková and Ing. arch. Michal Palaščák met at the Faculty of Architecture in Brno. MgA. Ondřej Císler, PhD apologized for his absence for health reasons. The students in the jury were represented by Bc. Tereza Novotná, Ing. arch. Martin Bělkovský, and Bc. Jan Kubát.
After the morning meeting of all jurors at the faculty, the evaluation of the works exhibited in the individual studios could begin. First, however, a chairman of the jury was elected, who became architect Palaščák. The assessment and selection of works proceeded unusually quickly, and the jury had everything clear by noon. There were fewer projects to evaluate this semester due to diploma and bachelor theses, which are not evaluated in this competition as they have their own.
The announcement took place at 6 PM outdoors in the courtyard of the faculty. The chairman of the jury delivered the introductory words and a general evaluation of the exhibited projects, and he was definitely not sparing with criticism. Students and studio leaders heard a number of suggestions and the winners received many praises.
The first two works earned their authors not only unique trophies but also a number of tangible prizes and rewards. One of the main awards went for the winning project "Bridge over the Dyje" to Jaroslav Matoušek. The design was created under the supervision of Barbora Ponešová and Jan Foretník. The jury was impressed by the project "Bauhaus Museum Dessau" presented by second and third-year students: Veronika Dočekalová, Ondřej Mráz, Iveta Pavlíková, Jan Schleider, and David Zatloukal. The supervisor of the project was Ing. arch. Jan Sochor.
In addition to the winners, two other works created in the studio of Barbora Ponešová and Jan Foretník were also awarded. David Helešic received recognition for the project titled "Imprint". Markéta Mrlíková distinguished herself with her work "Lookout for the Blind".
The title of "best studio" was once again awarded to Barbora Ponešová and Jan Foretník. The jury highly appreciated the coherence and clarity of their exhibition of studio works, as well as the leadership and interest of the assignments.
The winning and awarded projects received a number of valuable prizes, especially from sponsors and partners of this competition. Notable mentions include a subscription to the magazine ERA21, a voucher for printing at Legia, extraordinary scholarships from the Faculty of Architecture, wines from the Sonberk winery, and gift packages from VUT.
Following the announcement, there was a casual entertainment and discussion about the projects accompanied by live music from Tyjátrio, grilling, and tasting delicious delicacies from the kitchens of skillful students of the Faculty of Architecture.

The organizer of the Bohuslav Fuchs Award is the Student Council of the Faculty of Architecture (SOFA).
The sponsors of the event were the companies XELLA, ERA21, Legia, Sonberk, VIZarch, and VUT in Brno.
