On June 24, 2015, the student award Ještěd in a Cage was awarded for the fourteenth time at the Liberec Faculty of Art and Architecture. In the studio of Karel Hubáček, the jury met in the morning, which this year included architect and rector of the ARCHIP school Regina Loukotová, architects Vítězslav Danda (edit!) and Ján Studený (ksa), art historian Ladislav Zikmund-Lender, and conceptual artist Jan Krtička. Throughout the day, they evaluated the exhibited works in the fields of architecture, urbanism, and environmental design. At seven o'clock, the studio doors opened to visitors, and half an hour later, the award ceremony took place. The jury decided to select ten nominations and one winner. This year, the winner was Michaela Říhová with her bachelor's thesis "Innisfree Island." Among the nominees were the projects Mest pod Vihorlatom by Betka Barančíková, Code in Architecture by Jakub Trčka, New School Chýně by Vojtěch Šaroun, Coworking for Porto by Anna Hrušová, Artist's Frame, Yoga Courtyard, and Gallery by Marie Štefanová, Marie Čáslavská, and Bětka Pomahačová, Museum of Life During the War by Tomáš Zavoral, Largest Pond by Šimon Marek, Martin Utíkal, and Tobiáš Hrabec, Rebirth of the City Class in Kolín by Vojtěch Malina and the studio assignment by Petr Stolin and Alena Mičeková "Wayside Crosses in Kryštof's Valley." Among the works of first-year students, the jury highlighted the work of Anna Cisariková, Martin Holada, and Dita Petráňová. Every visitor received three green tickets upon entry and could vote for their favorite. At ten o'clock, the votes were counted, and the public award was taken home by the projects "Small Architecture for Large Pond" by Dana Míková, Ondřej Novák, and Vu Dinh Quang, and "Residence for Contemporary Emerging Artists in Berlin" by Aleksandra Pineavy. Ještěd in a Cage, like every semester, took place under the auspices of x-fatul, an alumni and friends association of the school, and its smooth course was supported by sponsorships from BAUplus, Schüco, ERA21, tiox, and Graphisoft Archicad. The material prizes for the winners and nominees were donated by Braasi, Papelote, and mamacoffee.
