I would like to inform you that on January 23, 2013, the Statutory City of Pardubice announced a public single-round art and architectural competition for the design of a monument to Jan Kašpar, the founder of Czech aviation.
The monument is to be located on the western edge of Třída Míru, the main pedestrian artery of Pardubice, at the site of the demolished Hotel Veselka, where the aviator was born, in an open space in front of the commercial and administrative building Magnum.
The proposals will be awarded 1st to 3rd prizes (120,000 / 90,000 / 50,000 CZK).
The deadline for submitting proposals is "tight": questions can be submitted until February 6, the assignment documentation can be picked up until March 18, and proposals must be submitted by April 2.
According to preliminary arrangements, the competition proposals will be presented to the public in the Gallery of the City of Pardubice in the first half of May.
Only authorized architects can participate in the competition; other artistic creators cannot submit their own proposals but may be part of the architectural team.

The assignment documentation is accessible - here.
