On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno will host the tenth edition of the student competition Bohuslav Fuchs Award for the best studio project. The event is organized by the Student Community of the Faculty of Architecture (SOFA). The award is given twice a year, in the winter and summer semesters. The awarded works are selected by an invited jury consisting of three recognized personalities from the architectural scene, who are not affiliated with the FA VUT, and three previous winners of this award from the past semester. The jury will include Henrieta Moravčíková, Mária Topolčanská, ORA studio, Jaroslav Matoušek, David Zatloukal, and Jan Schleider. The ceremonial announcement of the awarded works will take place on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 7:00 PM in the premises of the Trojka café hall. This will be followed by an open discussion about the awarded projects accompanied by musical entertainment and refreshments. The SOFA organization was founded in 2009 by a group of students. It is a registered association whose purpose is to organize lectures, workshops, student events, and other activities aimed at FA VUT students. The association is supported by the company Xella, archiweb.cz, Legia, and the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno.
