Finnish design legend Artek has changed owners

Helsinki - The legendary Finnish furniture company Artek, co-founded by architect Alvar Aalto in 1935, has a new owner starting today. It was purchased by the Swiss company Vitra, which manufactures designer furniture and accessories. This was reported by the Reuters agency.
    Even almost 80 years after its founding, Artek continues to offer stools and lamps designed by Aalto. Items that were once seen in every other Finnish home are now considered collector's treasures and sell for thousands of euros.
    Until now, Artek was owned by the Swedish investment company Proventus, and neither the original nor the new owner disclosed the price of the transaction.
