Kladno - The bus station in Kladno is set to become smaller, more modern, and more organized in the future. Dozens of parking spaces for personal vehicles are also expected to be added. The city is currently preparing project documentation. "We would be most pleased if it reached such a stage that construction could start this year," said Kladno mayor Dan Jiránek (ODS) today to ČTK.
The changes will include reducing the number of bus stop areas, installing an information system, and modifying access. "We want to significantly reduce the area for buses," stated the mayor. Conversely, a parking area for personal cars will be created to serve people who need to handle something in the center of Kladno.
The Kladno bus station is outdated and oversized; its reconstruction was also planned by the previous management of Kladno, but on a much larger scale than the current city administration. According to estimates, it was to cost around 200 million crowns. The currently prepared project is expected to be significantly cheaper, according to the city leadership.
A new bus platform is also expected to be created in the future near Kladno’s main train station, which is outside the city center, and at the Kladno město train stop.
