Cheb - Cheb will announce a competition for the use of the area of the former barracks at Zlatý vrch. The developer should offer the city a price for the land, as well as a proposal for the use of the area, which is intended for the construction of residential and family houses. The city's mayor, Antonín Jalovec (VPM), said this to reporters today.

"No one has known what to do with the barracks at Zlatý vrch for a long time. It became apparent after the demolition of the buildings that if the area were to be used for individual construction or the construction of apartment buildings, it would be extremely investment-intensive, and the investment would amount to hundreds of millions of crowns," Jalovec stated.

Therefore, the city wants to offer the land to developers. The minimum bid price for the land is to be 350 crowns per square meter. The leadership of Cheb initially proposed that interested parties submit their offers within 2.5 months, but after discussion at the city council, the deadline will be extended to five months. According to Jalovec, this is to allow for a decision on further procedures by the end of this year, if any interested parties actually appear.

The area of the former barracks at Zlatý vrch is located on the southern slope overlooking the center of the city. While these are indeed lucrative plots, they lack connections to engineering networks and communication routes. However, communication routes are supposed to run through the area, providing access to other developmental parts of the city, including Špitálský vrch.
