Jablonec nad Nisou - Jablonec nad Nisou is preparing another public discussion of the proposed territorial plan due to changes in the draft. It is expected to take place in August. CTK was informed today by the town hall spokesperson Markéta Hozová.

The town hall received seven factually consistent comments, along with 163 objections and comments, from the residents of the 45,000-strong city regarding the proposed territorial plan. The new public discussion will focus only on the amended parts of the draft. "This means that the commenting will not concern the entire previously discussed draft of the territorial plan, but only those parts that have changed after the public discussion," said the deputy mayor for city development Lukáš Pleticha (ČSSD).

Based on the comments, the development area of Tichá Street, the definition of the new regulatory plan for Proseč nad Nisou - south, and the conditions for land use and building have been addressed in detail. "Specifically, this involves a higher level of construction and a higher intensity of land use, new delineation of the territorial study Dolina, clarification of the conditions for processing territorial studies, and defining the conditions for building on areas with confirmed occurrences of specially protected species of plants and animals," stated the head of the city planning department Michaela Smrčková.

Some changes are related to the planned extension of the tram line to the city center. In the future, the tram should pass through Soukenná Street via Dolní náměstí to a new public transport terminal, which will be created in the area bordered by Kamenná, Lipanská, and 5. května streets. According to estimates, this will require about 600 million korunas.

The new territorial plan should also address how to divert transit traffic away from the built-up area of the city. "There will be an option around Srnčí Dov, but the Directorate of Roads and Highways is also intensively preparing a less conflicting option through the valley further on," said Jablonec Mayor Petr Beitl (ODS) recently.

Jablonec aims to have the new territorial plan approved by the end of May next year to avoid losing a four million euro European subsidy which it has received for its preparation.
