Spa Libverda – Spa Libverda in the Liberec region is preparing a reconstruction of the protected colonnade, which dates back to the mid-19th century. The costs are estimated at 20 million crowns, and the project is in the phase of construction surveys and negotiations with heritage protection officials.
The spa colonnade consists of the Kristian spring, pavilion of the springs, and the gloriette of the music pavilion. It underwent a smaller reconstruction in 2012, primarily regarding the technical facilities and a bunker for mineral water, which is located at the back of the colonnade.
"Currently, a construction survey of the condition of the wooden parts of the roof frames and vertical supports is being conducted in terms of damage by wood-boring insects and fungus. Furthermore, a survey of the foundation structures and retaining walls in the area of the stream, which were damaged years ago during floods, is being carried out. Based on the results of the construction surveys, a decision will be made regarding the extent of the necessary replacement of wooden structures, or possibly the remediation of the existing ones to ensure a long lifespan for this state-protected monument," added Eva Olšová, Sales and Marketing Director of Spa Resort Libverda.
Spa Libverda in the foothills of the Jizera Mountains specializes in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular, oncological, and neurological diseases. The first mentions of the healing effects of the local springs date back to the 14th century, the history of the spa goes back to 1860 and is associated with the noble family Clam-Gallas, who founded it. It has a capacity of 467 beds in 238 rooms.
